points should be adhered to:

down'.
2.4 In the eventuality of the cable and/or equipment not being 'earthed down' ensure that the
appropriate authority proves to your satisfaction that the cable/equipment is SAFE to work on
(i.e. circuit breakers and isolators open).
2.5 Set up the test equipment as close as practical to the cable and/or equipment to be tested.
(See Para 2.13).
2.6 Check that the cable and/or equipment to be tested is completely isolated from any other
equipment. (This does not include such things as post insulators and busbars which will not
be adversely affected by an applied high voltage.)
